Time and time again
What is time? Physicists define time as the
"progression of events from the past to the present into the future" and is often described as the "fourth dimension of reality" alongside our three-dimensional physical space. We can not necessarily see, touch, nor taste time, yet we plan our lives around the passing of time every day.
There are moments in life when we wish we could control time. I experience the feeling often when the present is overwhelming. But this sense of wishing I could control time can be experienced for different reasons, as we have all had the feeling at some point in our lives. Wanting to reverse time to take away sadness due to loss; wanting to slow it down to savour a moment of happiness; or wanting to see into the future before making a big decision that may affect our life's journey no matter which direction we choose.
Through my art collection, Time and Time again, I aim to use art to represent the movement of time.
Joyful moments in time seem to travel faster; stressful moments may feel slower than they are.
Moments when it all seems beyond our control is when we wish to pause time...yet in the end time can heal us too. All we need to do is give time time.
