Join us to celebrate Fine Art and Music.
On the 19th of September, 2024, a group of creatives will be coming together at 196 Victoria road to enjoy the changing of the Earth's seasons in two ways: Fine art enriching space; Music enriching time.
We will celebrate music through a live performance by Giuliette Price and Khaya Mthembu-Salter, a dynamic vocal and guitar jazz duo, while celebrating fine art through a Spring themed exhibition.
The artworks that will be exhibited consist of two sections: a curated collection of works by five South African artists, and an open call section where attendees of the Cape Town Life Drawing sessions have submitted works of their own.

The Spring Equinox
Equinox represents the point in time when day and night are equal in duration. When the Earth's axis is neither tilted towards, nor away from the sun. We are neutral. This natural occurrence is closely related to the changing of the Earth's seasons, and has been acknowledged by various cultures and traditions around the world for centuries.
Celebrations of the equinox are often focused on themes such as rebirth or renewal; as the arrival of spring and its warmer weather is the catalyst for many changes. From dormant flora starting to bloom to hibernating fauna waking up.
Whether enjoying the spectacular show of wildflowers in the Western Cape, or simply observing the day with personal reflection, the Spring Equinox serves as a reminder of our connection to the world around us and the ever-changing cycles of life.
